Frequently Asked Questions:

Will there be a performance walk?

This year we are doing a performance showcase in the SGU Theater, rather than a performance walk.  We hope this will be more accessible for all of our guests.  If you prefer the performance walk to the showcase, please indicate this on your evaluation form.

What sound equipment is provided?

  • East Stage:  A mixer amp, with 6 channels, XLR and 1/4" inputs, 2 passive speakers (300 W, 8 ohms), 2 mics with stands, audio cable to connect MP3 or phone.

  • Courtyard: A mixer/amp/speaker combo, 3 channels with Eq, 200 W, 8 ohms, 1 mic with stand, 1 CD player, audio cable to connect MP3 or phone

  • Gallery - generally none provided, may make arrangements upon request

  • Theater - Behringer X32 digital mixer, 2 QSC K12 1000w active speakers as monitors, 4 passive speakers mounted on ceiling, 8 inputs on stage. Input: cd, flash drive, iPods, iPads, phones, or computer, 2 corded mics available

How many performances are we to do?

You are only asked to commit to one performance. However, if you would like to perform more than once please indicate this on your registration.

What happens if it rains?

This is a rain or shine event. A rain contingency will provide for some outdoor performances to move indoors—based on space and time availability.  Participants will be notified in advance.

Are there changing rooms available?

There are changing rooms available in the Sarkeys Performing Arts Center for those performing on the stage.  We recommend that performers come to the event in costume if possible. Please note, all restrooms must remain open to the public, so please don't leave any personal belongings in the restrooms.

When do I need to be there?

All performers need to check in at the museum front desk at least 1 hour prior to their performance.

Are you offering payment to the performers?

Primarily, the performers that participate at Arts Trek are volunteers who participate because they share a vision for strengthening respect and appreciation for the arts in Shawnee and Oklahoma at large.

Can I also have a booth during the festival?

Absolutely! All performers are invited to have a free outdoor booth space or discounted indoor space to promote themselves or organizations.  You may request a booth space during the registration process.  At your booth you may sell promotional materials (CDs, DVDs, T-Shirts, etc.) or hand-crafted items.  Sales will be processed through the gift shop, but the 25% sales commission is waived for performers.
